‘Dear Painting’, a series of paintings and poem-letters by Chora Luz Carleton, Massey University Exposure 2016, Wellington, New Zealand (5-19 November 2016).
Colour field works exploring memory and description, with writings or letters to the painting as a conversation with making. In this exhibition, Carleton featured two colour field painting/ poems ‘Dearpainting’ and ‘notlilactree’ as a development of her practice to meld written text, visual abstract and alternative methods of framing together.
