‘Habitat for Life’, a collaborative and responsive documentation project with Manju Tomar and Ruth Robertson-Taylor’s sculptural work at Miramar Prison Gardens, Wellington, New Zealand (April 2023-Oct 2023).
Carleton was commissioned by the artists to document their garden sculptures made from cow dung to capture the way that the works blended into the environment even with their deteriorating surfaces due to the winter storms, bird life and algae growth. Her photography and short films were sensitive responses to the site and entropy of a fragile and politically charged place.
