‘Lying motionless, listless’ a still image from Chora Luz Carleton’s video with the same title, commissioned by idea journal as the 2021 cover image of the issue ‘(extra) ordinary interiors’, vol. 18, no. 1.
The image and video comment upon the act of consuming time and being present as each moment folds into another. In this durational space, surfaces become expanses of inflections of hue and normality expands into a stream of observing luminosity.
